Foundations love to see their visions come to life in the hands of their grantee partners. On-the-ground community partners approach problems creatively and make a difference every day even when resources are scarce. But how often have you seen a partner doing good work struggle to sustain itself year to year? The truth is, community organizations often lack the capacity and resources to invest in long-term sustainability.
If you could help your community partners build the architecture they need for the long haul, would you? How much further would your dollars go in achieving your shared vision?
NP Voice’s tried and tested “Creative Cohort” model is more than a gift or a grant — it’s an investment in each partner organization's future and in achieving the change we want to see in the world.
NP Voice works with the convening foundation to select and orient a cohort, then gather and analyze member perspectives on key common problems.
First half: Dive into fund and resource development planning, including specific strategies such as collaborative fundraising, earned income, and corporate giving.
Second half: An interactive activity designed to get groups thinking creatively together on each group’s unique ecosystem: strengths and opportunities, partners, impacts and so forth.
First session: Board and staff leaders use their ecosystem diagram to present the group’s identity and challenges.
Second Session: Design personalized resource development strategy and a take-away plan to begin executing new resource and funding strategies.
